Tryouts Begin The Week Of August 17th At Hopkins High School
The Hopkins High School Boys Soccer Program is excited for the 2026 Minnesota High School League Soccer season. As in prior years, players for each High School Team will be determined through a competitive multi-day tryout process. In order to be considered for a place on one of the teams this fall, each player must register now.
In addition to all-age tryouts, focus sessions will be held during the first 3 days for a dedicated group of players: Seniors & Goalies (Monday), 10th & 11th graders (Tuesday) and 7th-9th graders (Wednesday).
Bring a soccer ball, gym shoes, water, shin guards, (inhaler if needed) & cleats each day. If you don't wear your shin guards, you won't be able to participate.

Please note that it is possible that not all student-athletes that try out will be offered placement on a high school team for the 2026 season. If a 9th-12th grader is not offered placement on a team, they could be considered to be a team manager to stay involved in the program. If a 7th or 8th grader doesn't make a high school team, Hopkins offers a soccer program at the Middle School where they can continue to grow and develop. Additionally, for those not playing high school, club soccer is also an option.
Placement decisions are final and are at the discretion of the coaches. The academy program offers multiple chances to move across teams within the program during the season.
**Important note in MSHSL rules regarding younger students that play club soccer where their team has a fall season (primarily U13 and U14). You are not permitted to play both fall club soccer and fall high school soccer. Unless you know for sure you are playing club, we generally suggest trying out for high school and then compare the environment to see what best meets your individual needs - if you have questions, please reach out to Coach Robby to discuss.
*Note this does not impact those that don't have fall club seasons (U15 and older) or those that don't play club. It also does not impact anyone's (no matter the age) ability to play winter/spring/summer club soccer.
